By being aware of what skills you want to develop, you can set better goals for yourself and communicate these goals to your mentor and lead.

Make good use of your 1-on-1s

Your lead and mentor can’t help you if they don’t know what you want for your internship, so spend some time in your 1-on-1s to discuss your goals.

You might not be as lucky though, as it’s difficult to get useful and constructive feedback. It’s important to be proactive and seek feedback, but give people a starting point.

Be open to learning from anyone, because teachers are everywhere.

It’s okay to be a sponge and listen first. Learning by example is a great way to learn.

Share your work, especially when it’s not ready.

Take initiative, especially when you’re not ready.

Don’t forget to just enjoy yourself
